New beginnings - Cellist Jussi Makkonen and pianist Nazig Azezia with their students
In the first concert of the Monola aita summer concert series on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 6 p.m., cellist Jussi Makkonen, pianist Nazig Azezian and their student from the Joensuu Conservatory join forces. In the concert organized in the courtyard of Aita, beloved compositions will be heard in Finland and abroad, interpreted by artists who make Sibelius' music famous, as well as young promises.
The performers are cellist Jussi Makkonen and pianist Nazig Azezia with their students.

Landscapes of the soul - violinist Liisa Makkonen in a summer evening
In the second concert of the summer concert series at Monola Aita on Friday 9 July 2021 at 6 pm. Violinist Liisa Makkonen, who has also worked as a concertmaster in the Vaasa City Orchestra, is skilled in Finnish music. In the concert organized in the courtyard of Aita, you will hear, among other things, a part of the unpublished violin sonata of Pielisjärvi composer Heino Kaske, as well as Liisa's skillful, mood-of-the-moment
improvisation.
The performers are violinist Liisa Makkonen and pianist Nazig Azezian.

"To Rakkalle Aino" - Aino Sibelius 150 years & premiere of Kantelinen's work
The third concert of the Monola barn summer concert series will be held on Saturday 10 July 2021 at 4 pm. The concert is dedicated to Aino Sibelius, whose 150th birthday will be celebrated on 10 August 2021. In the courtyard of Monola's shed
will be heard, among other things The world premiere of the piece composed by Tuomas Kantelinen for cellist Jussi Makkonen and pianist Nazig Azezian. Kantellinen is the most internationally successful Finnish film composer,
who has composed, for example, the music for the Snow Queen ballet performed at the National Opera.
